sex way too young?

ok this is a huge pet peeve of mine, most kids i knew in high school had already had sex by 14. That isnt cool. I had opportunity but I always felt that u shouldnt have sex until u are ready for what it brings. Sex has a purpose besides pleasure. Sex was created to create babies. I dont know why people dont understand that. I am not saying that every time i have sex i want a baby but I am ready to take the responsibility of having a baby. Kids are told that if u have sex u might get pregnant but they dont elaborate on that. they give more attention to STDS. I think that most people on a subconcious level think that sex is only for fun, thats the idea that is put out there culturally.

having sex without accepting the possibility of pregnancy is like jumping in the ocean and hoping not to get wet. birth control,condoms, the shot, it all may help but non are fool proof.

any thoughts?
